How to Rent a Car in Iran

Iran has many beautiful roads, and perhaps you can see the most pristine sceneries on the roads. The coastal of the south and wood roads of the north, desert roads and mountain roads give you amazing landscapes that you want to stand and watch the views and photography.

Along with the beautiful scenery, Iran roads are safe, well-maintained and the traffic police control all streets. On suburban roads driving is quite trouble-free; however, at first glance, you might be surprised by a little chaos of urban drivers. Although, you won't have this problem in the metropolitan cities and it's completely safe to drive.

Car rental process in Iran

First of all, you'll check the available cars and prices. You can rent a self-drive vehicle or ask for a driver. After selecting the car, specify the days you plan to rent, minimum days for self-drive car rental is usually three days. Also, you will choose the delivery and return location and hours. The price of renting a car without a driver starts at around € 35 per day at the lowest rate. Depending on the car model you choose, the options you want with the car and the number of days you plan to rent it will vary.

Sometimes you might be charged by a separate fee for on-site delivery. Also, you should notice to mileage limitations. Knowing these extra charges can reduce your costs.

If you are more than two people and want to visit many different cities during your trip, renting a car will be an economical choice. Given the cheap fuel rates and road pay-tolls in Iran, you will not have much to spend. Besides, you save so much time during your trip.

 What do we need to rent a car?

The terms and conditions we describe here for car rental, as well as the required documents, are the same for most car rental companies. However, be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully after choosing the company.

Required Documents:

Each driver must present a driving license. If you are staying under six months in Iran, there is no need for an international driving license.

An identification document, like a passport copy or ID card, be required. The driver license is not sufficient.

Payment and deposit:

- The total amount of rent and deposit payment is at the pick - up time and also for Iranian companies is usually in cash.

- Deposit for self - drive cars differ from 100 to 1000 EUROS depending on the type of vehicle.

- Deposit is returned at the drop off time.

- The total amount of traffic fines is deducted from the deposit. Some companies keep some deposit for traffic fines and 60 days after the date of the vehicle's return, the remaining amount of deposit will be transferred to your bank account.

Car insurance and maintenance:

Car rental insurance includes CDW or Collision Damage Waiver insurance, Personal accident protection and Third-Party Liability coverage. You can use the other guarantees that the company provides. Full insurance is an option and needs extra costs.

In case of any accident, you can contact with company's experts to help and support. Also, in case of an accident, no expenses will be received from you.

In case of any technical problem anywhere, the company should support you less than an hour and car maintenance is free of charge. If the technical issue is not solved, the car rental company should provide you with another car in less than 24 hours in any part of Iran.
